New UK Basketball Schedule 2023-2024 Here
The highly anticipated version of the University of Kentucky basketball schedule 2021-2022 season is available and outlined below. After an lackluster ending to their college basketball season last year, the Kentucky Wildcats look prepared to start a new chapter as they officially release the 2021-2022 UK basketball schedule. UK Athletics announced that Kentucky basketball will kickoff on FridayOctober 29, 2021 with a home game versusKentucky Wesleyan College. This game has traditionally been known as the Bluegrass Showcase, and will be taking place at Rupp Arena. Although this game isn’t technically part of the regular season for the Wildcats, you can still watch it on TV via the SEC Network, or listen via radio on theUK Sports Network.
TheUK basketball schedule will be include eleven non-conference games before South Eastern Conference games begin on December 29 versus theUniversity of Missouri. The Kentucky basketball schedule will also add a game with the HBCU schoolMiles College this season. Another interesting game on the schedules brings a familiar face back to downtown Lexington. Tubby Smith will bring hisHigh Point University Panthers to town as he reenters Rupp Arena from the visitor’s side of the scorer’s table.
Other highlights feature a SEC/ Big 12 Challenge, which will be played against the Kansas Jayhawks inLawrence, KS at Allen Fieldhouse on January 29th. The SEC tournament will cap off the regular season, and changes a bit from its tradition of being held in Catsville, TN. Now, it will be held in Tampa, FL atAmalie Arena from March 9-13th. Getting there should be easier for the Cats however, since they wrap up their regular season schedule at the University of Florida on March 5th.
Some of the biggest games on theUK basketball schedule this season will be against the blueboods of college basketball. As we mentioned, theSEC/ Big 12 Challenge against Kansas will be circled on Big Blue Nation’s calendars. Also, the game against Duke in theChampions Classic will start the season with a bang! Moreover, the SEC has several teams ranked in the preseason AP Top 25 this year. Those teams include Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and Auburn. The Wildcats will also face off against nearby neighbors including a Top 25-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes, and of course the cross-state rivals in Louisville!
