2021 UofL Football Schedule Now Set
The University of Louisville football schedule was just announced for the upcoming season on Thursday. It will feature an opening game against Mississippi, although on a neutral field in Atlanta, GA. As for Cardinal Stadium, seven home games will be played there in Louisville, KY. This will actually be the first time since 2013 that the Cardinals have 7 home games. The Cardinals have posted an 8-4 regular season mark at Cardinal Stadium over the past two seasons. Therefore, this looks good for UofL on paper. The season opener will be played on September 6th, as the 2021 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. This will actually be the first time these two teams have face-off. The last time the Cardinals were featured in a kickoff game, they lost 31-24 to #6 Auburn in the 2015 season.

After their season opener, the Cards will face in-state opponent Eastern Kentucky University at home on September 11th. The following game will happen on Friday, September 17th against UCF. This will be the Knights first visit to Cardinal Stadium since 2013. The University of Central Florida won that game 38-35.

Louisville ACC Football Schedule
The Louisville Cardinals ACC conference schedule will begin on September 25th at Florida State in Tallahassee, Florida. UofL lost against the Seminoles 35-24 in the ACC conference opener during the 2019 season. Next up will be Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on October 2nd. The Cards will be going for their third straight win against the Demon Deacons.

After a couple of road games to open ACC play, Louisville will face Virginia at home on October 9th. Following a bye week, up next will be Boston College on October 23rd at home. UofL will head back out on the road to face NC State on October 30th. Next up, the Cardinals are sure to have their hands full with national powerhouse Clemson on November 6th. Syracuse will then travel to the 502 on November 13th for it’s third straight appearance. Louisville will close their conference play with a Thursday night game against Duke on November 18th. This will mark their first visit to Durham since a 2002 road trip.
Each of the Atlantic Athletic Conference teams will play 6 division games. This includes one permanent crossover opponent, and one rotating opponent from the opposite division.

Governor’s Cup: Louisville vs Kentucky
The 2021 Governor’s Cup featuring Louisville vs Kentucky football will be played in Cardinal Stadium this season. This game didn’t happen in the 2020 season due to the pandemic. The SEC opted to omit all non-conference games, therefore it shelved. Set your calendars on this cross-state rivalry of Louisville vs Kentucky for November 27th.
This concludes the University of Louisville football schedule for the regular season. The Cards finished the 2020 season with a 4-7 record under Scott Satterfield. That follows a 2019 season, where the head coach led the Cards to the Music City Bowl after going 8-5.
