The Yellowstone bourbon limited edition expression has been an anticipated release out of Limestone Brand since 2015. These allocated bourbon whiskey releases are touted as doing something a little bit different than other distilleries. This one usually gets teased at the end of summer, then starts landing on shelfs just before fall season begins.

Master Distiller Steve Beam has announced the highly anticipated 2023 release of the Yellowstone Limited Edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Every year this Yellowstone whiskey release presents fans with something a little different.
The juice for this expression is hand-selected by Limestone Branch Master Distiller, Stephen Beam. Yes, that Beam. Not only that, his great-great-grandfather was another bourbon legend, J.W. Dant. Makes perfect sense why Stephen and his brother launched this project to produce fine small batch spirits. Limestone Branch Distillery in Lebanon, KY is behind the distillate for the annual whiskey release that has became a staple just before bourbon season gets into full swing.

This limited edition bourbon release is the result of a meticulous blending process. Beam hand-selected three aged bourbons – a 7-year, 13-year, and 16-year – and then took things up a notch by finishing them in Tokaji casks. Now, you might be wondering what are Tokaji casks, and what makes them so special.
Hailing from the Tokaji region of Hungary, Tokaji wines are renowned for their exquisite sweetness and captivating flavors. By finishing this bourbon in Tokaji casks, Beam has created an expression that many bourbon drinkers may not have experience before. The result is a bourbon that’s not only sweet but has complex, layered flavor profiles that will present your palate with a new profile.
Like all of the releases in this lineup, the 2023 Yellowstone Limited Edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is offered in 101 proof. It’s a harmonious marriage of three mature bourbons and the unique influence of Tokaji casks.
“With each year’s Yellowstone Limited Edition offering, I seek a finish that I both personally love and believe will make for a flavorful, well-balanced bourbon. This year, I found the perfect finish in the Tokaji casks sourced from northern Hungary,” said Master Distiller Stephen Beam. “Consumers can expect aromas of honey, green grapes and freshly baked cinnamon; a body highlighted by dry spice, followed by caramel, dark cherry, citrus and white pepper; and a finish containing notes of dry tobacco, honeysuckle and smoky oak. Fans of Yellowstone Limited Edition offerings will have a new contender for their favorite!”

Release Date & Availability
The 2023 Yellowstone bourbon will be available in the 750ml bottle size on an allocated basis. You can look for this limited release starting in August 2023.
You can sometimes buy this new bourbon release at the distillery gift shop just outside of Bardstown, KY. Additionally, it will be available at select retailers nationwide.
Proof & ABV
This 2023 Yellowstone Limited Edition is bottled at 101 proof. The 101-proofing is the equivalent of 50.5% ABV.

MSRP & Secondary Price
This Yellowstone Limited Edition is available in a 750ml offering for an MSRP of $100. While it is an allocated release, secondary market prices aren’t quite as insane as some other hyped releases. Nonetheless, it does have limited edition right in its name and that sets off flashing lights for the taters and flippers.
Suggested retail pricing is set for $99.99 officially. However, that’s if you actually come across it sitting on the shelf. Moreover, if you’re willing to pay secondary prices, expect to pay in the $125 to $175 range.
