Woodford Reserve Doubled Double Oaked Limited Edition “Distillery Series” Release
The latestWoodford Reserve Doubled Double Oaked 2023 “Distillery Series” release is officially set to drop at 10:00 AM EDT, Wednesday, January 18, 2023! Unlike, last year’s limited edition bourbon release which was a sweepstakes, this will be a more traditional release without the digital entry.

The Distillery Series started in 2015, featuring experimental releases available only at the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky. Some of those releases include Honey Barrel Finished and Toasted Oat Oak Grain.

Review & Tasting Notes
Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked Distillery Series release is essentially their Double Oaked product, with an additional year in anotherheavily toasted lightly charred new oak barrel. That means, their legendary Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey gets aged in three different virgin oak barrels.
Beyond theWoodford Reserve Double Oaked product, Double Double Oaked is aged for an additional year to create a bourbon that is spicier than its original counterpart, which produces a sweeter taste and finish.
“We are excited to once again offer one of our most-coveted annual bourbon releases,” Morris said. “This is the perfect winter bourbon with tasting notes of burnt marshmallows, cranberry and bittersweet chocolate.”

Roasted coffee bean
Nose
Aroma: A robust medley of rich maple syrup, dark butterscotch, brittle caramel, bittersweet chocolate, burnt marshmallow and sweet hickory smoke notes dominate the nose.
Palate
Taste: Rich dried cherry and cranberry fruit swim in a blackberry jam brightened with hints of ripe apple. Chai tea and warming clove notes develop to spice up the palate.
Finish
Warm and drying with a lingering clove character.

TheWoodford Reserve Doubled Double Oaked 2023 “Distillery Series” release officially dropsat 10:00 AM EDT, Wednesday, January 18, 2023. It will only be available at the Woodford Reserve Distillery, located at 7785 McCracken Pike, Versailles, KY 40383.

Proof & ABV
This Double Double Oaked release is bottled at 90.4 proof and is non-chill filtered. The90.4-proofing is the equivalent of 45.2% ABV.
Mash Bill
The mash bill for this Woodford Reserve release is around 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley.

MSRP & Secondary Price
This 2023 Limited Edition release is only available in a 375ml bottle which resembles a similar flask-like looking bottle the distillery uses for the most of its releases, but in smaller form.Woodford Double Double Oaked has an MSRP of $60. Being as it is a limited edition offering with limited allocation, the secondary market price will surely have you paying well over that. If you are not within driving distance of the distillery however, that may be your only remaining option.
