The Eastern Kentucky Edition Amazon Echo EK Only Responds to a Kentucky Accent and It’s Hilarious

The Creek Church (London, KY) produced an Eastern Kentucky Edition Amazon Echo EK commercial parody describing what life would be like if Alexa understood a thick Appalachian accent. Although this is not a real product, many now wish that it was! Undoubtedly, the video has gone viral! After reading this article, you’ll understand why.

It all starts off with an opening question:

“Are you sick and tired of being misunderstood by your intelligent personal assistant because of your Eastern Kentucky accent?”

Alexa then responds:

“I’m sorry, I only respond to commands in english.”

The Amazon Echo EK (Eastern Kentucky) edition is then introduced and labeled as an unintelligent personal assistant. The commercial features a few different scenes such as a woman asking for directions to a dollar store, where Alexa responds is old school country terms “labeled as a A GPS you can actually follow.” Let’s just say it’s quite comical.

Additionally, the Amazon Echo EK includes features such as changing Alexa’s name to something more along the lines of:

Bubba

Sissy

Sweetie

Hoss

Puddin’

Baby

Tater

Cornbread

Alexa is then asked for the weather, and refers to her knee for an outcome of rain. Additionally features such as parental control, food delivery services, and country music playlists, are all included! The device is available in 3 different designs but you’ll have to wait till the very end of the video to see how awesome they are.

Now, we tried not to give away too much, just a sneak peek. If you’re Kentucky As All Get Out (we know we are) you’re definitely not going to want to miss this one!

About The Creek Church:

The Creek Church was founded in 1861 as Hawk Creek Baptist Church. For 144 years the church existed as a small community church, serving those living in and near the Hawk Creek area of Laurel County, Kentucky. 45 people were attending weekly in 2005 when God began a new work through our Lead Pastor, Trevor Barton. Today, over 2,000 people attend our campuses weekly and over 1,650 people have been baptized since 2005. There are 3 current locations (London, Somerset, Williamsburg, with a location opening shortly in Middlesboro.) Their mission is to love God, Love People, and to Make Disciples.

The Lead Pastor of The Creek Church is Trevor Barton. Trevor is a gifted leader and communicator with a passion for reaching those marginalized and discouraged by religion. Under his leadership The Creek has grown from a small community fellowship to an outwardly focused ministry that God is using to change lives. Trevor, his wife Allison, and their two sons, Shepherd and Greyson, live in London, Kentucky.
