Tyler has been dropping hints like breadcrumbs, and it looks like something big is about to drop. With a recent makeover on his social media and some mysterious videos on Instagram, we’ve all been on the edge of our seats. The natural questions started popping up. Could it be a new song? A whole album?
Tyler’s last masterpiece, “Can I Take My Hounds To Heaven?” left us craving more, and it’s high time for another dose of his Kentucky charm. The long wait is finally over, and a Thursday morning 8:00am release just couldn’t arrive soon enough. Get ready for a wild ride because the music video is coming your way below.
Behind The Music Video
Tyler Childers has just released a cinematic clip for his brand new song, “In Your Love.” This time, we’re whisked away to 1950s Appalachia, where we witness a love story of two male coalminers. A story where even death is no match to tear them apart.
In just under five minutes, the music video takes you on a rollercoaster. We see our protagonists fall head over heels for each other, wrestle with the violent reactions of their coworkers, and ultimately embark on a whole new adventure together on a charming country farm.
The direction behind the storytelling is none other than Silas House, the Poet Laureate of Kentucky. Joined by his husband, Jason Kyle Howard, House came up with the treatment to represent a rural setting. This video, directed by Bryan Schlam, stars the dashing Colton Haynes and James Scully.
Expect a New Album
This new Tyler Childers song is titled “In Your Love” and is the first release from the Kentucky native since the gospel album. Prior to that, Childers released the album, “Long Violent History,” in the turbulent times of 2020. That album was an unexpected release in terms of content and timing.
This album will presumably match the prior in terms of unexpected contents. With that being said, we shall see how this album compares with his Long Violent History project that peaked at No. 6 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
