‘Send Nudes’ Kentucky Road Sign Hack Stuns Kentucky Drivers Thursday Morning

We’re telling you the story. The whole truth, and nothing but the naked truth.

A Kentucky road sign was unexpectedly hacked with a SEND NUDES message on Highway 92 in Whitley County, Kentucky early Thursday morning. The Kentucky road sign was turned off quickly after reports of the SEND NUDES message started filing in at 8AM to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Unfortunately, state officials aren’t certain of who the Send Nudes hacker is.

The sign itself belongs to a contractor that is managing a current road project in Whitley County.

“We were notified this morning that the message was … different,” Hale said. “We contacted (the contractor) and sent them immediately down to confirm it, they confirmed it, and they immediately turned the message board off.”

Amber Hale – Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokeswoman

Although illegal, it is very easy to hack road signs according to StateScoop. The signs are owned and operated by private contractors (belonging to McCreary County). Undoubtedly, the systems are password protected, yet someone was able to break the code.

Although the fact that a Kentucky road sign was hacked with a SEND MESSAGE is quite comical to most, to some, not so much. Either way, it makes for a great story!
