Heaven Hill Distillery Debuts New Five Brothers Bourbon
Five Brothers Bourbon by Heaven Hill Distillery is the Bardstown whiskey powerhouse’s latest release. This addition by the world’s second largest holder of aging bourbon whiskey is a small batch expression. This bottle release makes a surprise landing on our bourbon release calendar.
Five Brothers Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is produced blending five ages of bourbon. This is symbolic to the 5 Shapira brothers who started Heaven Hill back in 1935, way before it was trendy to hunt unicorns and brag about your score in your local tater club.

The label of this premium bourbon bottle features more remnants of the early days as the distillery was being established. The label features a black and white photo of the five Shapira Brothers when they were all in their 20’s and early 30’s.
More specifically, David, Ed, Gary, George, and Mose started what would become one of the largest independently held spirits businesses in the world today. Max L. Shapira, who runs the company the company today, is the next in line from that family tree.
This beautiful packaging has a retro feel, with subtleties to the 1930’s with its vintage-looking paper. It also includes an Americana color scheme with a navy and gold tax strip utilized to seal the cork.
Review & Tasting Notes
Five Brothers Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey blends juice from 5 different ages to represent each brother. The age statement of those 5 bourbons range from five-year to nine-year-old juice.
The tasting notes incorporate sweet and smooth, with notes of vanilla and sugar cookie. The finish is suggest as long but subtle, making this an easy sipper, especially at 90 proof.

Release Date, & Availability
As of this publishing, you can start looking for this bourbon release immediately. The presser for its official release launched on June 18th, 2021. This coincides with the recent opening of the Five Brothers Bar & Kitchen at the newly updated Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience.
You will be able to buy this new bourbon release at the Heaven Hill visitor center gift shop in Bardstown, KY. Additionally, it will be available at select retailers across Kentucky.

Proof & ABV
This new expression is bottled at 90 proof which is also symbolic to the distillery’s history. This reflects the early days of Heaven Hill production and proofing. A 90 proof rating is the equivalent to 45% ABV.
Mash Bill
The Five Brothers Bourbon release utilizes Heaven Hill’s traditional bourbon mashbill. That mash bill consists of 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley.

MSRP & Secondary Price
Five Brothers Bourbon is available in a 750ml offering for an MSRP of $59.99. Being as it is a new offering, we have yet to see what any potential secondary market pricing will demand.
Suggested retail pricing is set for $49.99. However, anyone who has looked for this bourbon personally can attest that it is a major find if you can spot it in the wild. Moreover, secondary prices fetch many times over suggested retail price.
