The Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is an uncut version of their Small Batch 12-year-old Bourbon. This whiskey is bottled straight from the barrel without chill filtering. This produces a more bold expression of the Elijah Craig Small Batch, which is produced regularly at 94 proof. Fun fact, it is suggested, that Elijah Craig himself was the first to use charred oak barrel aging. This product uses a char number 3. Each batch of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof has a different ABV, however Batch A121 comes in at 123.6 proof.

Tasting Notes From Distillery

  • Color: Deep amber
  • Aroma: Caramel with toasted oak, fruit notes of apple and orange
  • Taste: Rich vanilla, caramel and butterscotch along with spices of black pepper and cinnamon at the back of the palate
  • Finish: Nicely layered showcasing all flavors, fades slowly then lingers as it cools

Larceny Barrel Proof A121

Larceny Barrel Proof is a wheated bourbon however. Its mashbill replaces the rye with wheat, typically known to be more approachable. Larceny Barrel Proof is also non-chill filtered and bottled at full barrel strength. After hitting the scene in 2020 to many awards and accolades, it makes its January return.

This bourbon is typically released three times a year, in January, May, and September. Each one of these Small Batch Bourbon releases has its on slightly unique offering. Larceny Barrel Proof A121 is rated at 114.8 proof, balanced yet bold.
