Final Kentucky vs Ole Miss Basketball Score 62-70
The Wildcats traveled to Oxford, Mississippi in Tuesday’s basketball game. In their only matchup of the season, the Kentucky vs Ole Miss basketball score ends at 62-70. It was another disappointing loss for UK, after they found a stride briefly.
Game Recap
The Wildcats trailed by a 3-point margin in the first half, going into the locker room down 29-32. They improved their offensive output in the second half, but so did Ole Miss. The Cats were outscored, 33-38 in the second half.
The Rebels’s Devontae Shuler put up 17, while teammate KJ Buffen had 16 points of his own and added 10 rebounds. Romello White produced a double-double for Ole Miss with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Keion Brooks Jr. led the way for UK, scoring 16 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. He also added 8 rebounds and 3 assists in the loss. Olivier Sarr scored 15 points on the night, with 13 points coming from Isaiah Jackson, and 10 points from Davion Mintz.
Jackson’s night was cut short due to foul trouble. A trend that has been reoccurring in the last several outings for the standout shot-blocker. Brandon Boston Jr. would only score 3 points in the game, going 1-of-9 from the field. Kentucky went 5-20 from the three-point line, converting only at 25%.
The University of Kentucky falls to an overall record of 8-15, going 7-9 in SEC league play. Ole Miss moves to an overall record of 14-10, going 9-8 in the Southeastern Conference. The Wildcats will travel back to Lexington, KY for their Saturday game against South Carolina. Next Ole Miss faces off against Vanderbilt at home. With their lackluster performance this season, the only hope left for Kentucky is to win the conference. SEC tournament play kicks off on March 10, 2021 at Bridgestone Arena, Nashville TN. Otherwise known as Catsville, TN due to the town being swarmed by Big Blue Nation.
