Kentucky vs Georgia Basketball Score Finishes at 62-63
John Calipari came into this must-win game against Georgia looking for new ways to win. This time he made changes to his starting lineup. Dontaie Allen and Lance Ware would enter the starting lineup. The 5-star recruits, Brandon Boston Jr. and Isaiah Jackson would come off the bench. Nonetheless, this UK team just can’t seem to get out of its own way most of the time. Therefore, the Wildcats let the game slip away in the final second, literally. The Kentucky vs Georgia basketball score finishes at 62-63.
UK was leading by 1 point with 23.5 seconds remaining in the game, and had the ball in their possession. The Bulldogs chose to foul Devin Askew, who has been a solid free throw shooter on the season statistically. The foul however was a one-and-one, which Askew missed the front end at that attempt. Therefore, the ball landed back in Georgia’s possession where they held for the last shot. With 3.6 seconds remaining in the game, they missed an attempt on a layup drive which Isaiah Jackson swatted ferociously out of bounds. That would give Georgia another attempt via an out of bounds play underneath their own basket. PJ Horne bobbled the basketball while splitting the UK defenders and the play almost seemed dead. However, UK seemed to nearly give up on the play as Horne regained his composure and converted on the layup with the clock expiring.
UK went 1 of 13 from the three point line, with 17 turnovers in the game. Therefore, the University of Kentucky basketball record now sits at 4-9 overall. The Cats are 3-3 in SEC play, after looking for hope in the year of 2021 to turn things around.
