Kentucky Gas Station Sells Out at 99 Cents a Gallon

London, Kentucky Gas Station Offers Gas at 99 Cents a Gallon

The Spur Oil gas station on North Laurel Road in London, Kentucky sold out of gas early this morning due to its extremely low prices . The gas station owners announced that it would be dropping its pricing to 99 cents a gallon to give back to the community for as long as they could. The announcement was made via Facebook.

Due to the Coronavirus, many are not traveling/driving as much as they would due to social distancing measures.

“During this DIFFICULT time we would like to give back to our COMMUNITY by offering LOWER FUEL PRICES at .99 cents for UNLEADED, as long as we can,” the post reads. “At this time we are ONLY offering this price at our #7 Location in Laurel County. We are open 24/7.. #TEAMKENTUCKY #ShopLocal #GiveBack”

Additionally, drivers tipped off other automobile owners on the app GasBuddy – an app based on finding real-time fuel prices at more than 140,000 gas stations in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

The current average nationwide gas price is at $2.20 per gallon. The gasoline supply at the Spur Oil gas station in London was replenished Thursday afternoon.
