‘Churchill Downs’ Music Video is Laced with Louisville Traditions
The new Jack Harlow ‘Churchill Downs’ music video will resonate with Kentuckians in a special kind of way. On the same weekend that A-list celebrities and horse racing fans alike descended on Harlow’s hometown, the Louisville native dropped his ‘Come Home The Kids Miss You’ new album release. He was also featured asLouisville native’s appearance at the 2022 Kentucky Derby. Jack outlined a coming home in a major way, in the biggest weekend in Derby City!
ThisJack Harlow ‘Churchill Downs’ video is directed by Ace Pro and was shot on location at the historic Kentucky Derby venue which its titled after. Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky is where the Derby has been hosted since the inaugural running in 1875. Let’s just say there’s a lot of history associated with those symbolic twin spheres.
In Derby City, the horse race is just one piece of the larger event. In fact, the Kentucky Derby Festival is essentially a month-long party featuring more than 70 events. Kentucky locals will identify those parts in the video very easily, while outsiders may assume it’s just party of the staging for videography purposes. One of those events is Thunder Over Louisville, the largest fireworks show in America.
As for the music itself, Harlow has an official No. 1Billboard Hot 100 spot, aNo. 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and viral status on the social media platform Tik-Tok. However, this music video featuring the star power of an artist like Drake only adds to his momentum! Therefore, it’s no surprise that the video also includes subtle shots and cameos fromDruski, Hit-Boy, and another Louisville artist, Bryson Tiller. It also features two individuals who played a bigger role in his success,DJ Drama andHarlow’s mom.
