Governor Andy Beshear Updated the Commonwealth this Friday at What has Become a Regular Facebook Tune in at 5PM ET

As we all know by now, everyday at 5PM, Governor Andy Beshear continues to update us on the daily happens of the COVID-19 cases in Kentucky. He brings a sense of calmness yet urgency to do our part by staying home. The message this Friday began with a positive statement:

“We will get through this.”

Governor Andy Beshear – Numbers Update:

Governor Andy Beshear confirmed a total of 302 cases in Kentucky, 54 being new. One of the cases was the first of Lawrence County. Additionally, Beshear announced a confirmation of 3 new deaths in Fayette, Jefferson, and Hopkins Counties bringing the total of deaths to 8.

In comparison to other statues, Kentucky’s numbers are quite low. During the news conference, Beshear stated that the Commonwealth has a lot more time than other states to “flatten the curve” and slow the spread of COVID-19 via social distancing. Undoubtedly, officials are working hard to protect the homeless via housing programs although they are uncertain if they will receive federal support yet.

Governor Andy Beshear – Do Not Go to Tennessee:

In blunt terms, Beshear recommended that Kentuckians do not cross the border into Tennessee unless it is absolutely necessary or for work related purposes.

“I cannot help that Tennessee has not taken the steps that we have. I need you not to go to Tennessee.”

Tennessee currently has a total of more than 1,300 cases with Nashville’s epicenter Davidson Country totaling at 312. When asked if he was considering closing borders, Beshear responded “I think that we consider different options every single day. I’m not there yet.”

The broadcast came to a conclusion with questions and an encouraging video from University of Kentucky Basketball Coach – John Calipari.
