This set is a a dream for those longstanding fans of the distillery. So let’s learn more about this Four Roses tasting kit!

What’s included in this Tasting Kit?
Inside this amazing tasting kit, bourbon lovers will find 50ml bottles of all ten unique recipes that are the foundation of Four Roses bourbons. Additionally, QR code access to a guided tasting video with Master Distiller Brent Elliott elevates the immersive experience into the distinctive character of Four Roses bourbon expressions. Therefore, you get the opportunity to try all 10 Four Roses recipes! These are made up of 5 proprietary yeast strains: SV, SK, SO, SQ, SF. Those yeast strains are then married with 2 unique mash bills, OB or OE.

Review & Tasting Notes
Since its founding in 1888, Four Roses has been transparent about its use of five yeast strains and two mashbills, which are ultimately blended, distilled, and bottled for each batch. This Four Roses Tasting Kit allows you to directly compare each of those and find your favorite. It should be noted that this is the first time ever that such a set has been offered.
This Four Roses Ten Recipe Tasting Experience set consists of 10 different batches of Four Roses Distillery barrel stock. Each sampler bottle packs a 52% ABV punch, showcasing rich flavors and unique profiles across their range, such as delicate grain and floral notes, light grain and mint, rich fruit and vanilla, and a delicious rye and baking spice finish.
Each50ml bottle is labeled prominently with a specific code that identifies its unique recipe. Since Four Roses uses 2 different mashbills and 5 different yeast strains, they produce 10 unique bourbon recipes. If you’re wondering what the codes actually mean, each letter is used to identify specific components in the recipes of Four Roses bourbon lineup. We outline more of that below.
To dive deeper and decode the format, we’ll start with the constant letter O. This first letter designates the production facility — Four Roses Distillery. The second letter identifies the mashbill, therefore it’s always going to be E or B. The third letter typically remains constant since it designates the whiskey distillation, straight whiskey. The last or fourth letter identifies the yeast strain used in the specific recipe. These can range from V (delicate fruit), K (slight spice), O (rich fruit), Q (floral essence), or F (herbal notes).

Release Date & Availability
This exclusive Four Roses Ten Recipe Tasting Experience set will be first available beginning June 30, 2023. This tasting kit will be for sale at the Four Roses Distillery Gift Shop in Kentucky first before reaching specialized retailers and liquor stores in California, Georgia, Illinois, and Kentucky in mid-July 2023. There is no word currently on the allocation of this limited Four Roses bourbon release.

Proof & ABV
This Four Roses10 Recipe Tasting Experience set is bottled at 104 proof and is non-chill filtered. The 104-proofing is the equivalent of 52% ABV.
Mash Bill
The limited edition 10 Recipe Tasting Experience set offers a sample of every mashbill Four Roses Distillery offers, which is just two variations. As we previously mentioned while decoding the letters, this sample set features both Mashbill B and Mashbill E. The B version consists of 65% corn, 35% rye and 5% malted barley. Meanwhile, the E version consists of 75% corn, 20% rye and 5% malted barley.

MSRP & Secondary Price
This10 Recipe Tasting Experience is available in a 50ml bottle and has a MSRP of $130. While the bourbon inside these bottles isn’t a once-in-a-lifetime expression, hardcore fans will frequent the distillery gift shop to get the 750ml bottles that they prefer as when they are released onsight.
Nonetheless, we will see within a couple of months what the secondary market prices will demand on these sampler sets.
Four Roses Updates Branding
Besides the Ten Recipe Tasting Experience, Four Roses proudly presents its updated rebranding, featuring brighter labels with gilded borders, a 3D rose emblem, an engraved rose cluster on each bottle cork, and Master Distiller Brent Elliott’s signature on each bottle’s face.
