Here’s how to help Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief Efforts

For those of you all fortunate enough to help out your fellow Kentuckians in a time of need, we’ve compiled a list. Here’s several ways that you can donate to Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief efforts. Remember, all of your donations can be tax-deductible and you can also assist with your time if you cannot make a monetary contribution.

Downtown Beattyville Alliance:

If you would like to donate directly here, make checks payable to the Downtown Beattyville Alliance/ Beattyville Main Street Love Local Fund. Those checks should be mailed to the locations below.

The local bank, Citizens Bank & Trust, is also accepting donations once it is feasible to reopen. Donations are also being accepted via PayPal.

Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky and Chad Warrix of the Troy Gentry Foundation:

If you would like to donate here, all Community Trust Banks in the region will be accepting monetary donations. You can also give a donation online here, which contributes to the foundations relief fund. For more information you can reach out to the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky at 606-439-1357.

Operation UNITE:

This Flood Relief Fund will be focused on providing bottled water, cleaning supplies, and other necessities for Eastern Kentucky counties that were affected by the floods. Click here if you would like to make an online donation to Operation UNITE.

Hazard Community & Technical College:

Hazard Community and Technical College is trying to collect tangible items for the families in need. These necessities are listed below, and include hygiene products, cleanup supplies, clothing, bedding, and items for kids. They will be running this relief drive through March 31st.

HCTC Flood Victims Need your Help:

“Outlaw State of Mind”

Chris Stapleton’s charity, Outlaw State of Mind, has teamed up with Buffalo Trace Distillery. The Kentucky bourbon distillery which produces the E.H. Taylor brand is auctioning off limited edition bottles that will go to charity. The E.H. Tayor x Chris Stapleton bourbon release is sure to become a collector’s item in addition to helping a good cause.

Southeast Kentucky Flood Relief Fund:

A group of musicians put together a show to help benefit the Southeast Kentucky Flood Relief Fund. You can watch the Love Thy Neighbor show here.

“In the wake of the recent devastating floods in Southeast Kentucky, the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky (FAKY) has created the Southeast Kentucky Flood Relief Fund. This fund will help our region’s most vulnerable neighbors during this critical time of need. The Fund will focus on relief and recovery efforts across Southeast Kentucky.”

Christian Appalachian Project:

The Christian Appalachian Project is setup with two command centers to assistance in the relief efforts. If you would like to help you can reach out to the appropriate outlets below.

Local Volunteer Fire Departments:

The local fire departments in Lee County, Tri-Community, and Beattyville have all launched GoFundMe campaigns to help Kentuckians in the hardest hit areas. Each of their GoFundMe fundraisers can be accessed beow.

Red River Gorge 2021 Flood Disaster

“The Red River Gorge region and surrounding areas have been devastated by flooding leaving many stranded without a home, food, and other resources. This account is made to help raise money to assist people who are in need. We may not be able to rebuild homes and lives, but we can help provide food, money for temporary housing, gas, and other needs until folks can get on their feet.”

Red Cross Disaster Relief:

The American Red Cross will also be assisting in disaster relief efforts. You can donate online via redcross.org, or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS. If you prefer to mail a check, those can be addressed to American Red Cross 510 E. Chestnut St. Louisville, KY 40202
