Dillon Carmichael “Pickin Up Girls” brings sophomore album release closer into focus!
Growing up in small town Kentucky, the last two releases from this local country artist couldn’t be anymore on point. Dillon Carmichael “Pickin Up Girls” featuring The Cadillac Three explains exactly what you do when you’re small town bored. Nostalgia is powerful all by itself. Add the tempo, melody, and some nasty guitar riffs from The Cadillac Three and you’ve got an instant classic.
When there’s nothing to do in small towns across America, you make your own fun. When you just got your driving license, hitting the backroads and cruising around town is adequate plans for the evening! This song is probably relatable to a lot of fellow Kentuckians and takes us back to our younger days.
Pickin Up Girls was co-written by Dillon Carmichael, The Cadillac Three frontman Jaren Johnston, and James McNair. Johnston is lead vocals and guitar for his own group, but also has penned songs for the likes of Tim McGraw and Keith Urban among others. McNair has contributed on songs for Luke Combs and Scotty McCreery. Like many of Dillon’s recent releases, including radio single “Hot Beer,” this new song was also produced by Jon Pardi. The Cadillac Three is behind the production and it inevitably shines through if you are familiar with their music!
