Tyler Childers’ Kentucky Animal Shelter Visit Creates Buzz & Increase in Adoptions After Facebook Photo is Posted

We all know Tyler Childers, can write a good song. Clearly, he’s great with the pups too! On New Years Eve, Tyler Childers visited a Kentucky Animal Shelter in Floyd County. Prestonsburg’s Ned Pillersdorf (long time volunteer and Co-Founder), said buzz about the visit on social media drove up adoptions and donations after he posted the photo on Facebook.

The photo also resulted in an increase in donations which is much needed for the shelter according to Jackie Brown, employee of the shelter.

“It’s an old building. It needs some work. If you walk in and the first thing you see is broke, it automatically throws you off. You assume, ‘They can’t be caring for their animals. They have a hole in their roof.’”

Jackie Brown

Importantly, with the recent attention, increase in adoptions, and generous donations, the animals will hopefully soon have a better and safer environment at the Floyd County Animal Shelter.
