Immanuel Quickley led all scorers with 17 points, shooting 6 of 10 from the floor, and a dunk in the final minutes to put an exclamation point on his performance! Ashton Hagans led all players in the assists category, while tied with Juzang and Maxey for most steals at 3. While Nick Sestina didn’t lead any specific categories aside from his 75% shooting from the floor, he did a little bit of everything! Shooting 6 for 8 from the field, he also grabbed 8 rebounds, with 3 assists and 2 blocks.
While this was the final exhibition game, Kentucky’s next game will inevitably be a much tougher challenge as they face #1 ranked, Michigan State! This Michigan State team features a lot of returning players, one being Junior guard Cassius Winston. He comes back as the Preseason Player of the Year in the Big Ten Conference. Last season he averaged 18.8 points per game and 7.5 assists. Undoubtedly, one of the nation’s elite point guards, but Kentucky’s Maxey looks to challenge that title as the season kicks off.
