Recap
UK Basketball entered this game ranked No. 5 in the country, jumping significantly in the rankings after pouncing Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse.
This game was a scrappy matchup which included technical fouls, from both coaches, as well as flagrant fouls and several reviews on the plays to see if something extra was going on.
Nonetheless, Kentucky got a huge breakout performance from Davion Mintz. He put up 21 points on the night, going 4-for-7 from the three point line. Mintz was also perfect from the free throw line, going 5-for-5.
The Wildcats shot 22-of-57 from the floor, and 8-of-18 from behind the arch. That equates to 38.7% from the field shooting, and 44.4% from behind the three point line. Certainly not Kentucky’s best shooting performance by any means! The Cats did shoot better from the free throw line however, going 25-35 at 71.4%.
Kentucky moves to 18-4 on the season, and 7-2 in the Southeastern Conference standings.
