It was formed after Senate Bill 14 was passed by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. MSU is 1 of 52 space-grant colleges in the nation. Essentially, these educational institutions are selected, one in each state, to participate in the National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program. The program’s purpose was formed to conduct outer-space–related research.
