Sanitizer Shortage Inspires Lexington Brewing & Distilling to Produce and Donate Hand Sanitizer

Lexington Brewing & Distilling to Produce and Donate Hand Sanitizer

Lexington Brewing & Distilling is Using it’s Own Alcohol to Produce and Donate Hand Sanitizer

Hand Sanitizer shortages are being seen throughout our nation due to the COVID-19 virus. In Kentucky, Lexington Brewing & Distilling has decided to take matters into their own hands by using the alcohol they have to make sanitizer in which they plan to donate.

The hand sanitizer is made up of aloe vera, hydrogen peroxide, and 80% alcohol, all which then goes into a recyclable glass bottle.

The first round of Lexington Brewing & Distilling hand sanitizer bottles (200 to be exact) will be delivered to Lexington City Hall. The company plans to continue distribution and gather with city officials to determine processes, and where it is needed most.

“As the community rallies together amid the adversity caused by COVID-19, we want to do our part,” said Mark Coffman, master distiller at Town Branch. “In this small way, we are able to help our neighbors and support the ongoing effort to keep everyone safe and healthy.

As the local community works to combat the spread of coronavirus, hand sanitizer remains in high demand. In an effort to help supplement the shortage, Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. is using its own alcohol supply to produce hand sanitizer and provide it free of charge. “As the community rallies together amid the adversity caused by COVID-19, we want to do our part,” said Mark Coffman, master distiller at Town Branch. “In this small way, we are able to help our neighbors and support the ongoing effort to keep everyone safe and healthy.” Implementing social distancing practices, a team member from Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. will deliver the hand sanitizer, with recipients notified ahead of time to coordinate the drop-off. Organizations in need of hand sanitizer can email KentuckyAle@alltech.com to submit their request. @lexingtonkygov @mayorlindagorton #sharethelex #kentuckyproud
