The Parker’s Heritage 2022 expression is official! Heaven Hill Distillery announced the release details on Parker’s Heritage bourbon for this year. The 16th Edition bourbon whiskey is truly one-of-a-kind, featuring a unique double aging process and expertly blended combination. Its recipe consists of 67% 13 year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that has been barreled for four weeks prior to blending with 33% 15 year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey – making it an incredibly smooth experience! This second aging process of 2022 Parker’s Heritage Double Barreled Blend expression was developed with the Level 3 Char. This level 3 char for example is a pretty commonly utilized option, and gets the toasted barrel treatment for forty seconds while being produce at the cooperage.

And the last decade of sips went for a good cause! Heaven Hill has released the last nine editions ofParker’s Heritage Collection, from 2013-2021, with each bottle sold contributing to the ALS Association. From “Promise of Hope” Bourbon and Orange Curaçao finished Kentucky Straight Whiskey to Heavy Char Rye Whiskey and Wheat Whiskeys – their work has raised more than one million dollars towards research an patient care in support of those living with ALS. And now they’re continuing this incredible effort into 2022 by releasing yet another special bourbon blend sure to make a lasting impact on those fighting such a difficult disease.

Review & Tasting Notes
This edition marks the 16th national release of the Parker’s Heritage Collection. The concept behind this annual release includes a selection of special whiskey which varies by each release. This limited release bourbon honors the name of late Master Distiller Parker Beam. Since its inception, the annual release has become one of the most highly anticipated products for bourbon enthusiasts around the world.
The Parker’s Heritage Collection was created in 2007 to honor 6th generation Heaven Hill Master Distiller Parker Beam who was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in 2010. Parker is a legend in the distilling space, and unfortunately passed away in 2017 after his diagnosis ALS. A portion of the proceeds from each sale are donated to help funding for ALS research. It has contributed over one million dollars to that cause in the past eight years.

Previously they’ve included a Parker’s Heritage Rye, Parker’s Heritage Malt, and age statements have ranged from no age statement to 24 year old juice. To say the least, the releases are diverse whiskies, not limited to Kentucky Straight Bourbon. This Parker’s Heritage 2022 release is a 13-Year-Old Double Barreled Whiskey, mixed with a 15-Year-OldKentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The 13-year reached its peak maturation after aging on the 5th-7th floors of Rickhouse Q at Heaven Hill. The 15-year Bourbon was selected from barrels produced in January 2007. These were aged on the 2nd and 5th floors of Rickhouse II.

This edition is a veritable flavor explosion! The nose boasts oak and hints of butterscotch and caramel, while the sip offers up a perfectly balanced blend of spice notes, sweetness, slight oak tannins. On top of it all lies an impressive finish full to bursting with elements like dark chocolate, baking spices and white pepper.

This Parker’s Heritage wheated bourbon is bottled at 132.2 proof for BIB regulations. The 132.2-proofing is the equivalent of 61.1% ABV.

This Parker’s Heritage 2022 Double Barreled Blend is available in a 750ml offering for an MSRP of $175. Being as it is a highly sought after offering with limited allocation, secondary market prices will demand many times over that that retail price. Prior releases have saw shelf prices upwards of $500.
Suggested retail pricing is officially set for $174.99, which is up from last year’s $139.99 price tag. However, anyone who has looked for Parker’s Heritage for sale, you can attest that it is a major find if you can spot it in the wild. Moreover, if you’re willing to pay secondary prices, get ready to pay several times over that amount.
