Recap
UK Basketball entered this game ranked No. 21 in the country, after taking a huge drop following their loss to Notre Dame. The Cats came into the game looking to find out who they actually are this season, and hopefully step up to the plate. In the biggest way possible, they came to play!
This would also produce Kentucky’s first victory away from Rupp Arena, which is a big deal right before they open up SEC play and start hitting the road after the New Year break.
After a rough outing in the last game, Sahvir Wheeler shot a season-best 80% from the floor! He would go 12 of 15 from the floor, and was a single point away from a career high. However, it wasn’t just him, he would be one of four other Wildcats to score in double figures.
Oscar Tshiebwe put up another double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Kellan Grady came out firing, going 5-7 from behind the arc to produce 18 more points. Keion Brooks Jr. went 5-of-10 from the floor himself to add another 10 points on the night.
The Wildcats shot 39-of-72 from the floor, and 8-of-15 from behind the arch. That equates to 54.2% from the field shooting, with an impressive 53.3% from behind the three point line.
