Louisville vs Marist Women’s Basketball NCAA Tournament Score, 74-43
If you missed the opening round of the Big Dance, you can catch up on the Louisville vs Marist women’s basketball NCAA Tournament score, highlights video, and more!
The Louisville Women’s Basketball program is the last hope for locals to come out victorious during an unprecedented year of college basketball. Not only are they the only team remaining from the University of Louisville, they are the only college basketball team to remain from Kentucky overall.
Not to fret however, they offer pretty solid hope after a stellar season where they rose to a #1 ranking in the regular season. This was a first in school history. The team entered the NCAA Tournament as a #2 seed in the Alamo Region. However, through the first quarter it appeared as if the #15 seed Marist may have been working towards a major upset. That would have somewhat fit the narrative to basketball in Kentucky after a wild season.
The University of Louisville women’s basketball team put an end of that story fairly quickly going into halftime however. Going into the lockers rooms after the second quarter, the Cardinals would lead, 29-24.
During the second half, the third quarter specifically, Louisville would have their highest productive quarter. On the offensive end of the floor, they put 26 points on the board, running away from Marist, 55-33. The game would finish at 74-43, although the final score didn’t reflect the Cards slow start.
The #2 Louisville Cardinals will advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament where they’ll face #7 Northwestern Wildcats.
