Louisville Silences Michigan, 58-43

#1 Louisville humbles #4 Michigan, after the Wolverines beat two Top 10 teams.

The Louisville Cardinals just secured the #1 spot in the latest college basketball rankings, while Michigan made the largest jump since the AP Top 25 Poll was introduced around 70 years ago. The Wolverines achieved such a feat by knocking off two Top 10 teams in a single week. Both North Carolina and Gonzaga got knocked off by the then unranked Michigan. All of this momentum had Michigan feeling some type of way, so guard David DeJulius made the mistake of stating, “We want all of the smoke.”

This gave Louisville all of the motivation they needed, for a game which may have already been a trap for Michigan who just played several big games on the road. Louisville was going to give Michigan all the smoke they wanted, and even made the night a whiteout for extra measures. Louisville never trailed in the game, as they held one of the most productive offenses to 26% shooting from the field.

The Cardinals were led by Jordan Nwora who stated after the game, “We had heard they wanted some smoke. They got some smoke. And they got smoked.” He had something to talk about after a double-double performance, with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Check out the video below for a condensed version of the game.
