The Wildcats manage to hold off a second half rally from the Commodores, closing out the Kentucky vs Vanderbilt basketball score at 83-78.
The Kentucky Wildcats came out hot against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Wednesday. For most of the game, the Cats held a double digit lead over Vandy. Scotty Pippen Jr., the second leading score in the SEC, was held to zero points in the first half. Vanderbilt was down by 17 points at one moment.
It is no secret that the University of Kentucky has struggled with the last four minutes of their games. Scotty Pippen Jr. ended up finishing the game with 18 points.It is no However, that doesn’t take away from the progression that the Wildcats have made on the defensive end of the floor.
The second half was another story however. Vanderbilt rallied to even take the lead at one point during the second period.
As for individual play, Disu lead all scores in the game with 29 points for Vanderbilt. scotty Pippen Junior added another 21 points for The Commodores.
As for the Wildcats, Mintz lead the team with 18 points. Isaiah Jackson started the first half with 15 points, but slowed with foul trouble during the second half. Nonetheless, Kentucky finished the game with five players in double figures. Once again, as the Cats put together a higher-scoring game it seems to work in their favor in the win column. The million dollar question, is this the cause or the effect?
The Wildcats move to 7 and 13 overall, with a 6 and 7 record and Southeastern Conference play. Kentucky has now one back to back games closing out the final minutes. Regardless, can I build on this momentum and take it into the SEC Tournament in Catsville Tennessee?
