Kentucky vs Florida Basketball Score Finishes at 76 – 58
Kentucky wins their 3rd straight game, moves to 3-0 in SEC play, and is now undefeated in 2021. The final buzzer ends with the Kentucky vs Florida basketball score at 76 – 58.
The Wildcats began the season with one of the worst starts in nearly a century. What’s different tonight you might ask? One thing seemed evident in this game, Keion Brooks Jr. is back! Playing in his first game of the season, due to a calf injury, he appeared to have no rust whatsoever. He came off the bench in his return, scoring 12 points on 6 of 8 shooting. This gave Kentucky an offensive lift overall, adding a much-needed weapon to a team that loses if they fail to break 65 points. Brooks is the only player from last season who returned on a scholarship.
UK looked like a different team, even from the box score. They exceeded the 70 point margin for the third straight game, and it is no coincidence that they also have a three-game winning streak. Moreover, they had a good defensive night as well, holding the Gators to 37.5% shooting. This equates to 21 of 56 buckets from the field. They also turned Florida over 16 times, which lead to a couple of break-away dunks and alley-oops to Brooks alone.
Kentucky will have one of its toughest challenges in SEC play on Tuesday, as they play the 9-3 Alabama Crimeson Tide. The winner of that matchup will hold the top spot in the SEC, for now at least.
