The UK vs Alabama basketball game was a track meet of sorts due to the athleticism on both teams. However, the Crimson Tide refrained from their typical press for the most parts, because who in their right mind wants to force a transition game with the Wildcats?
TyTy Washington Jr. led Kentucky in scoring, going 6-of-15 shooting from the field to produce 15 points on the night. The offensive output was a team effort nonetheless, with five Wildcats scoring double digits.
Daimion Collins would be one of those double digit scorers against Alabama and he provided a huge spark off the bench. His length and athleticism provided UK with a great weapon the throb lobs as the Alabama defense collapsed on the dribble drive. Collins also went 6-for-6 from the line, and ripped down 6 rebounds as well.
The Wildcats shot 24-of-60 from the floor, and 4-of-11 from behind the arch. That equals 40% from the field shooting, and36.4% from behind the three point line. This is certainly not Kentucky’s best shooting performance but it was enough to get the job done in a tough environment on the road! The Cats shot a solid percentage from the charity stripe, going 14-19 at 73.7%.
Kentucky moves to 19-4 on the season, and 8-2 in the Southeastern Conference standings, while Alabama is 14-9.
