Kentucky vs Alabama Basketball Score Final At 59-70
In their first matchup this season, Alabama came to Rupp Arena and beat UK by 20 points. It was now time for the Wildcats to travel to Tuscaloosa. One would assume this to be even more uphill battle. Especially after Alabama’s recent #9 ranking. Nonetheless, this looked like a completely different game, but the Crimson Tide still pulled off the win. The second matchup of the season has the Kentucky vs Alabama basketball score final at 59-70.
Despite the Cats making this a game from front to nearly the end, they just couldn’t close it out. We’ve pointed out all season long that when UK fails to score in the 75-plus range, they lose. We’re not sure if that’s the cause or the effect however. This marks the first time in more than 30 years that Alabama has beaten Kentucky in basketball twice in a regular season.
UK had three players who reached double-digits in the game. Olivier Sarr, Davion Mintz, and Dontaie Allen all finished with 12 points each. However, there was no breakout games on the offensive end.
The Cats shot the ball poorly from the field overall, going 19-54 for 35.2%. However, the stat sheet told a different story from behind the arch. Kentucky went 6-14 for 42.9% from the three point line. Dontaie Allen contributed on 4 of those himself, hitting one late in the game to pull within 5 points.
Kentucky looked strong on the defensive end, holding this Crimson Tide tide 11 points under their season average. However, the Cats weren’t without struggles of their own. They coughed up the ball 17 times on the night. Turnovers have plagued this team throughout the season.
