Kentucky State Parks Will Finally Begin Opening on June 1st
What’s Opening in June?
On Friday, Governor Andy Beshear announced that Kentucky state parks, movie theaters, bowling alleys, and gyms will reopen June 1st during his 5PM news briefing. Numerous parks such as the Kentucky Horse Park, Lake Cumberland, Lake Barley, and Blue Licks Battlefield and Buckhorn Lake will reopen June 11, while cabins, lodges, and golf courses can reopen June 1st. All in state camping will resume on June 11th with social distancing practices. All Kentucky state parks and campgrounds opening in June is an effort to push in-state travel for families this summer.
“It is important for tourism to reopen to generate revenue in Kentucky and boost the states economy.”
Governor Andy Beshear
Additionally, the governor encouraged Kentuckians to explore the commonwealth this summer when Kentucky state parks and campgrounds begin to open in June. Playgrounds will remain closed, as will pools. Fishing tournaments will resume on June 1st, alongside dirt track racing with specific guidelines in place.
