There are now 2 barrels of bourbon for every person in the state of Kentucky.
The Kentucky Distillers’ Association officially announced that there are double the barrels vs. people in our state. Within the last few years, there has been a great bourbon boom.Kentucky has filled more than 2 million barrels in the modern era. Surprisingly, there are 9.1 million total barrels of spirits. The previous record was 8.7 million barrels in 1968.
U.S. Census projections estimate the state’s population at 4.5 million residents. Kentucky Bourbon is one of the Commonwealth’s most historic industries. The bourbon industry provides 20,100 jobs. Distilling is a 1.6 billion dollar economic powerhouse. Bourbon is the native spirit, keeping Kentucky Great.
“This is a historic day that cements Kentucky’s rightful title as the one, true and authentic home for Bourbon and distilled spirits,” KDA President Eric Gregory said. “It’s also further proof of Kentucky Bourbon’s monumental economic impact and ever-increasing demand.”

There are 37 distilleries belonging to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and the Craft Tour.
What is the difference between The Kentucky Bourbon Trail and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour?
The classic tour includes 17 original distilleries. The craft tour includes 20 distilleries using new ways to reimagine a timeless tradition. Both tours have their own passport books which are stamped after completing tour.
