2023-2024 UK Basketball Schedule Sets Tone For Big Season!

The highly anticipated University of Kentucky basketball schedule2023-2024 season is available and outlined below. After early exits the last couple of years in their college basketball season, the Kentucky Wildcats look prepared to start a new chapter as they officially release the2023-2024 UK basketball schedule. Checkout the full Kentucky bball schedule below!

UK Athletics announced that Kentucky basketball will kickoff on FridayOctober 13, 2023 with the much anticipated Big Blue Madness. This is typically a sold out event, embracing Kentucky basketball tradition while introducing the fans to the new players. That will be followed with the Blue/ White game on October 21, which is a ticketed event with proceeds going to help Kentuckians in recent natural disasters. Coach Cal also stated this would be an opportunity for Big Blue Nation to see Big Z for the first time after being added to the roster late in the season.

Kentucky usually adds a couple of local teams to their schedule as exhibitions prior to the official kickoff of the college basketball season, and this year is no different. Kentucky will faceoff with nearby opponent, Georgetown College on October 27th, and then welcome Kentucky State on November 2, 2023.

Then to officially kickoff the season, UK will welcome its first opponent,New Mexico State on November 6th. You can watch this game on TV via the SEC Network, or listen via radio on theUK Sports Network. TheUK basketball schedule will include twelve non-conference games before South Eastern Conference games begin on January 6 versus theUniversity of Florida Gators.

Other highlights feature a SEC/ Big 12 Challenge, which will be played against the Miami Hurricanes inLexington, KY at Rupp Arena on November 28th. Kentucky will also face off against Kansas Jayhawks in a battle of the blue bloods. After KU having to forfeit a season of wins following a NCAA scandal, UK is once against the winningest college basketball program. This game will heighten that race for the top program in college basketball. However, the Wildcats will face another hot program over the last decade, Gonzaga. If that wasn’t packed enough, Kentucky will face North Carolina on December 16, 2023. The SEC tournament will cap off the regular season in Catsville, TN at Bridgestone Arena from March 13-17th.

Some of the biggest games on theUK basketball schedule this season will be against some of the most elites programs of college basketball. As we mentioned, theSEC/ Big 12 Challenge against Miami will be circled on Big Blue Nation’s calendars but that pales in comparison to some of the other non-conference challenges. Moreover, the SEC has several teams ranked in the preseason AP Top 25 this year including Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and Texas A&M. Kentucky has been picked to finish 3rd or 4th by analysts, who haven’t been giving the Wildcats much respect this season. The Wildcats will also face off against several top-ranked teams, and course the cross-state rivals in Louisville!
