The Keeneland November Sale 2020 kicks off November 9 at 12pm ET.
The Keeneland November Sale 2020 will begin just two days after the Breeders’ Cup took place nearby at the Keeneland Race Course. The action in Lexington moves from the racetrack to the sales ring as the 10-day auction through November 18th. This becomes the 77th November Breeding Stock Sale, after hosting the 2nd Keeneland Breeder’s Cup. Needless to say, it’s a big week in Lexington, Kentucky’s horse country!
This year‘s November sale features in-foal broodmares, weanlings, and other thoroughbred broodmare prospects with well established bloodlines. That is on display throughout 6 Books of highly sought after horses, including the first crop of weanlings by the likes of 2018 Triple Crown winner Justify. Leading horse farms featured in the sale include, WinStar Farm, Paramount Sales, Lane’s End, ELiTE, and Taylor Made Sales Agency. The catalog for this year’s November Sale features a total of 3,805 horses. In comparison, the 2019 sale featured a catalog of 2,671 head sold for a total of $200,135,200. This averages out to $74,929 per head.
To kick things off in Book 1, a few horses featured in the Breeders’ Cup itself will be offered and categorized as racing or broodmare prospects.

Due to issues that kept fans out of Keeneland for horse racing, COVID protocols that were established for September Weanling Sales will remain in place during this sale. The November Breeding Stock Sale will start at noon on the first day of November 9th, with each subsequent day of sales beginning at 10am ET.
