Heaven Hill Distillery Limited Edition Single Barrel Celebrates 85th Anniversary

Heaven Hill Distillery started in 1935 in Bardstown, Kentucky. Fast forward 8+ decades later and not only do they operate the largest single-site bourbon distillery in the world, they are also the largest privately owned spirits company in the United States. To celebrate their 85th anniversary, which reflects the overall community of Bardstown as a whole, a Heaven Hill Distillery Limited Edition Single Barrel bourbon is being released.

This bourbon release is a single barrel in every sense of the terminology. It is literally a limited edition release of one barrel of bourbon, which was filled 14 years ago on December 13th, then bottled on December 13th of 2019. This is a very special day to the company as they filled their very first barrel of bourbon on December 13 of 1935, a couple of years after Prohibition was abolished.

This Heaven Hill Single Barrel bourbon was aged in Rickhouse G for 13 years. From there it continued through the bottling process without chill filtration and lands precisely at 107 proof. This proof is aimed specifically to commemorate the distillery’s original barrel entry proofing.

The president of Heaven Hill Distillery proudly states, “perseverance is a hallmark of Heaven Hill’s history, and a value resonating across the industry this year.” Especially during times like the ones which we’re currently enduring, President Max L. Shapira says, “we look forward to lifting America’s spirit for the next 85 years, as we have since 1935.”

Expect this Heaven Hill 85th Anniversary 13-Year-Old Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey to hit shelves before the year’s end. As you can imagine, this bottle will be a unicorn, but hunters can expect to find it in the Bourbon Heritage Center onsite, and through select retailers for an MSRP of around $300.
