The event will bring stage events, including a performance from the band Bourbon Branch. Downtown Corbin is hosting the area’s latest festival in celebration of Kentucky Fried Chicken founder Colonel Harland Sanders.

The KFC founder, Colonel Sanders, is a Corbin native and much of the event will be focused around Sanders Park. Part of the inspiration behind the festival itself is to connect the city with its heritage. You can learn a lot about the interesting history of Colonel Sanders and the original KFC, which all began in this small Kentucky town.

Events:

The Colonel Fest will feature a wide array of events for all ages. Some of those official events will award prizes to winning contestants. The activities which are contests will include specific starting times while others are all day events. For example, the Chicken Costume Contest will be held at 3pm sharp. Anyone can dress up and enter to win, even dogs. Additionally, a Chautauqua speaker from the Kentucky Humanities Council will perform a presentation at Sanders Park at 1pm. See below for the full Colonel Fest schedule and lineup.
