Governor Andy Beshear Allows Alcohol Delivery in the State of Kentucky During his Thursday Address to the Commonwealth
On Thursday, Governor Andy Beshear addressed the Commonwealth of Kentucky with Coronavirus updates.
As we all know by now, Kentucky restaurants and bars have been shut down to the general public while only allowing drive thru, pickup, or delivery services state wide since Monday. The demand was put in place to diminish the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Many, if not all, are experiencing troubling times. Small business owners are trying to stay afloat and Kentuckians have been doing a great job by trying to support as much as they can with to-go orders. Several Kentuckians are getting involved and staying informed via social media (including Beshear.)
Although Kentucky and the rest of our nation are facing the hardest of times, there was one thing that Beshear said during his speech on Thursday that lifted the spirits of many:
“Restaurants and bars offering delivery and take-out will be allowed to offer alcohol for delivery.”
Beshear allowing Alcohol delivery in Kentucky can help countless businesses stay afloat. Typically, a business has to have an exclusive license to administer alcohol on a to-go level. The exact details of the alcohol lift to allow for spirits (including, liquor, beer and wine) were not provided.
