Barn8 Restaurant Located at Hermitage Farm is Officially Open for Business and Here’s Why You Need to Go
Whether you’re from Kentucky or not, the Barn8 Restaurant experience is well worth a trip. It embraces Kentucky culture, food, and of course our southern hospitality (extremely well.) The Barn8 Restaurant grand opening was originally delayed due to the pandemic, however, it’s now officially ready to roll under all appropriate Healthy at Work guidelines. Barn8 is not only a restaurant, but also a bourbon bar that has been carefully converted from a dairy barn at the infamous Hermitage Farm.
Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown, founders of 21c Museum Hotel, and owners of the Hermitage Farm took on this experience as one of their most recent projects. If you’ve ever been to one of their boutique hotel properties, then you already know that this duo is nothing short of creative. From design to carefully curated restaurants, to of course their number one passion art, they certainly mastered it all.
About the Restaurant
Barn8 sits on the beautiful Hermitage Farm in Goshen, Kentucky just outside of Downtown Louisville. Alison Settle, Executive Chef will proudly be using seasonal locally sourced ingredients. Importantly, a greenhouse sits on the property growing fruits and vegetables that will also be used for the food and beverage menu.
Barn8 has a private feel with the perfect amount of indoor seating, private stable booths, and features the private artwork collection of Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown throughout. The atmosphere has a rustic historic feel, showcasing Kentucky’s bourbon barrels, but it also adored with modern, beautiful lighting and furniture.
Private Event Space
The second floor features a gorgeous hayloft area where one can host private corporate events and weddings at a 200 person capacity.
Bourbon Bar
Nope, we’re not done yet. The space even has it’s very own Bourbon Bar and Lounge! The Barn8 Restaurant Bourbon Bar and Lounge features Kentucky’s finest bourbons such as the infamous Pappy Van Winkle, and decade specific bottles which are often hard to come by, alongside a curated bourbon library featuring all bourbons featured on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. One can book a guided tasting, take home bottle, and enjoy a Hermitage Farm select Bourbon!
*Did you know that Kentucky now houses double the barrels vs. people in state?!
