The Alabama vs Kentucky Basketball Score Finishes At 85-65.
This University of Kentucky team continues to break records, albeit not quite the stuff you want to remembered for. With a shot at first place in the SEC, a shorthanded Alabama teams comes to Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY and dominates. This hands the Wildcats their worst loss at home under the John Calipari era. After a 3-game winning streak, UK reverts to their old habits. As we’ve previously mentioned, if the Cats don’t score in the 70s, they don’t win. This Alabama vs Kentucky basketball score finishes at 85-65.
With this win, Alabama moves to 5-0 in the Southeastern Conference. The Crimson Tide snapped an 8-game losing streak on the road in Rupp Arena. They did this all while being shorthanded. This included both injuries prior to the game, and sustaining some during it. The Wildcats weren’t without injuries themselves however. Kentucky freshman guard, Terrence Clarke, missed his 4th game as well with a lingering ankle injury. Kentucky gets their 2021 undefeated streak snapped, moving to 3-1 in conference play. After starting the season 1-6, they are now with a 4-7 record overall.
As for individual play, John Petty Jr. led all scorers with 23 points on the night. This nearly doubles his season average. Jaden Shackelford added another 18 points of scoring for the Crimson Tide. For the Wildcats, they struggled shooting the ball converting on only 34.4% from the field overall. Three point range didn’t look any better, ending the night at 22.2% from behind the arc. Isaiah Jackson did have a breakout night of his own from the offensive end however. He led all Wildcats with 14 points on the night. This came on 3 of 5 shooting from the field, and 8 of 10 from the free throw line. Nonetheless, one of the most glaring things on the box score was 19 turnovers from UK.
